We’re delighted to be returning to ExCeL London on 8-9 May, 2026, for the 15th edition of CPC, the UK’s leading clinical pharmacy event.

Following another highly successful event last year, we are pleased to return to exhibit our ground-breaking Alfa CD electronic register module which is revolutionising the management of controlled drugs. Initially launched in Iceland in 2016, it has since been serving hospitals, as well as long-term and elderly care facilities in managing all ordering, extraction, balance checking, and stock oversight workflows of controlled substances.

Thula’s Alfa CD electronic register module provides users:

  • A control tower overview of all aspects of controlled drugs management
  • Immediate and full UK regulatory compliance with electronic signing
  • Effective discrepancy detection and resolution
  • Complete elimination of paper-based registers
  • Improved workflows support increased Care Hours per Patient Day (CHPPD)

Adele McAllister, Thula’s UK Country Manager, shares:

“In the UK, Thula has had the pleasure of working with Prof. Inderjit Singh, Chief Pharmacist, at the University Hospital in Birmingham (UHB). In close collaboration with Prof. Singh and his team of pharmacy professionals, the Alfa CD module has been adapted to meet UK-specific requirements and has included the integration of electronic signing to provide a closed-loop and fully paperless solution. UHB have been a pioneer for the Alfa CD module within the NHS, and has seen the Alfa CD module rolled out at the UHB Trust sites.

Thula has also partnered with ASSA Abloy UK, a well-established vendor of lock systems within the NHS. With the integration of their unique CLIQ system, Thula have been able to combine their advanced tracking and reporting technology into the Alfa CD module, therefore providing Alfa users a more comprehensive audit trail and true control tower overview when investigating controlled drug related discrepancies.

CPC comes at an exciting time as the Alfa CD module is now fully operational at UHB. Our partner, Abloy UK will be collaborating with us at this event at stand C57, where we will be showcasing the integration of our two technologies. Our demo will now be using actual clinical room equipment and live data to provide a full and comprehensive demo of various controlled workflows to delegates.”

During the event, delegates can visit Thula at stand C57 where our team will be on hand to provide live demonstrations using real clinical room equipment and true-to-life data, answer any questions you may have, and discuss how Alfa CD supports safer, more efficient, and fully auditable controlled drug workflows.

You’ll also have the opportunity to talk to our colleagues from University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) about their first-hand experience of using Alfa CD in live service and the benefits it has delivered.

Professor Inderjit Singh, Chief Pharmacist at UHB shares:

“Alfa CD has fundamentally changed how we manage controlled drugs across UHB. It has improved safety, strengthened governance and, most importantly, returned valuable clinical time back to patient care.”

Adele McAllister, Thula’s UK Country Manager, adds:

“We are very proud and thrilled to be working with all our UK partners, creating a truly digital and revolutionising management tool, and supporting us to ensure compliance with UK legislation and governance when managing controlled drugs. The benefits to the clinical and pharmacy teams are huge, driving regulatory confidence, and safer, more efficient patient care.

We look forward to meeting healthcare professionals from across the UK at CPC this May and providing demos of our solution to them. It’s always great to be able to answer their questions and hear their stories and understand how our solution will help to address key clinical challenges for healthcare organisations within the UK and help to create more efficient work practices supporting the important care that they provide.”

Register for the event today and visit us at stand C57 to see how Alfa CD is transforming controlled drug management from paper registers to safer, smarter, fully auditable digital workflows.
